Meet Rebbie Roberson. She’s 74-years-old, lives in Bowie County, Texas, and KSLA reports that she recently shot at an armed burglar.

“I’m not sure I didn’t hit him,” she told the outlet. “I don’t know yet. I sure tried. I sure was hoping.”

It happened Sunday night, when she was about to watch the newscast. She said someone broke into her home wearing gloves and a mask. And he was armed.

“And when I started to get up, he was in here on me with a gun facing me right to my face,” she said, later adding, “So I had to walk right out in front of him. I didn’t know if he was going to kill me or what.”

Thing is, she had her .38-caliber revolver on a nearby table.

“I reached over there and grabbed this gun,” she said. “And when I swerved around, I pointed it at him and he ran.”

Roberson said she trailed him, opening fire multiple times.

“That was the scare of my life.”

Sheriff’s Deputies with the Bowie County Sheriff’s Office are still investigating. One told the outlet they don’t think the burglar got shot, but either way, it was for the best.

“It could have been worse for both individuals, both the victim and the suspect,” Bowie County sheriff’s Chief Deputy Jeff Neal said. He also added that what she did was perfectly legal.

Anyone with information about the burglar can call the Bowie County Sheriff’s Office at (903) 798-3149.
